Creation of a modern and efficient design solution for a 1970s apartment, with a new internal layout and complete refurbishment of systems and finishes.
In this case, our clients needed to renovate their flat in the historic centre of Bormio, based on a design by the architectural firm S4B - Solutions for Building. The design involved a reworking of the interior spaces, with new windows and new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
As with any renovation project, once the site had been prepared and set up, demolition work had to be carried out. The change in the layout of the rooms required the installation of new internal plasterboard walls, some of which were insulated for acoustic reasons.
To improve the internal comfort and the energy performance of the building envelope, internal EPS insulation was installed along the perimeter walls, together with another false wall filled with rock wool. All the windows were dismantled and disposed of, as they were old and not energy efficient. The new windows feature triple glazing paired with wooden frames. Looking more closely at the finishes, for the flooring and skirting boards in the bedroom and living areas, high-quality, attractive parquet was chosen, while marble-effect porcelain stoneware was chosen for the bathroom and kitchen. The finished flat, as we can see from the series of photos below, is efficient, well-detailed and welcoming.
